Our sermon is from Jeremiah 20:1-18. It is a fifth Sunday topical, so it works out well for the year end. For many in our congregation, it has been a tough year for a number of diverse reasons, not the least of which was that hurricane named Harvey. How do we handle it when things don’t go right? How do we move ahead when everything seems to go wrong? Jeremiah knows a little something of this, and shows us a pattern that will encourage us as we look into the coming year and a fresh start. We will look at Jeremiah’s circumstances, and then have three lessons to apply when trouble comes. We will look ahead to next year with hope.
Our public reading is a short one: Philippians 4:4-9, Our benediction is Numbers 6:24-26
